IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR STR4500 USERS

• Spirent have now added support for the STR4500 simulator model to the Positioning Application (PosApp) software.
• Please refer to article KNI10194 for more information.

Officially SimPLEX, SimPLEX35 or SimPLEX45 do not support Windows 7.

• However, for SimPLEX and SimPLEX45 confidence tests have been conducted with Windows 7 32-bit only
• This applies to the last available versions only, which were actually released for Windows XP:-
  • SimPLEX v2-10
  • SimPLEX45 v2-81 SR04
     
• There is no intention of formally verifying or supporting SimPLEX / 45 with Windows 7 32-bit
• SimPLEX / 45 shall not be used with Windows 7 64-bit
• Windows 7 USB drivers are NOT included with the SimPLEX / 45 install.
  • However, we do provide Windows 7 32-bit compatible USB drivers via the downloads area of the CSC support website.
  • Please log in to your CSC account to access the USB driver pack (including instructions) via the "Utilities" download category.
  • Windows 7 64-bit USB drivers are available for the STR4500 simulator, but ONLY when using the  PosApp software.
     
• You must also ensure that the host PC is configured in accordance with the instructions in DCS0036D,
  • Be aware that DCS0036D is written for installation of our PosApp and SimCHAN software applications.
  • At the section referring to installation of the Spirent software you may replace references to PosApp or SimCHAN with SimPLEX / 45 accordingly
  • The need for a sig_gen.txt file and hardware licence key is only applicable to SimPLEX45
  • The need for an 'lservrc.txt' licence file is not applicable
  • References to GPIB and Ethernet interfaces should be ignored unless using these connections for remote control of SimPLEX / 45 from a remote workstation
