GSS9000, GSS7000: What is a Disk Image with respect to a C50r Host Controller or GSS7000 embedded Host Controller?

Answer
'Disk Image' is the term given to the operating environment Spirent installs the on the C50r host controller (GSS9000) and GSS7000 embedded host controller
Updates to that Disk Image are installed on fielded systems through the use of update patches
These update patches install additional/modified files much like a Service Pack would
Disk Image update patches are provided within PosApp and will be found in the folder:
D:\posapp\software\<VERSION>\image_patch
