Spirent TestCenter: How can I send traffic on STC using a Default Route?

Answer
  • Open Spirent TestCenter Application, connect to a chassis, and reserve the ports you will use.
  • Configure, at least 2 emulated devices, one at each port.
  • Set the devices, IP and BPG, configuration to match with your testbed.
  • On Spirent TestCenter Application, go to the device on which you will configure de default route, open the BGP tab, and hit the Edit Routes… button.
  • Add a new route using the values below:
Start Network: 0.0.0.0
End Network: 0.0.0.0
Prefix Length: 0
Use Device Address as Next Hop: Disabled
Next Hop: The IP address of the device configured on the other Spirent TestCenter port.

  • Go to Traffic Generator option under that same port, and add a Raw Stream Block.
 
  • Under the Frame tab, configure the following:
Destination MAC: DUT inbound interface MAC address.
Destination: Any valid IP address.
Gateway: DUT inbound interface IP address.
  • Start BGP on the Spirent TestCenter emulated devices and wait until the session gets established.


  • Start the traffic on Spirent TestCenter Application.
