Yes! You may wish to do this to consolidate script and action files from multiple users, environments, or versions of Abacus software. If you are using a custom script without the correct action file, you will receive an error from Abacus, "Unrecognized line item".
Abacus ACTIONS (.act) and Scripts (.scp) files are basic text files that may be opened in WordPad for editing. The abacus directory structure is such that .act files are stored in the ACTIONS directory and .scp files are stored in the SCRIPTS directory.
Merging .SCP Files:
Abacus call scripts consist of one or more actions, and may contain comments. In the .scp script file, new scripts are appended to the existing .scp file and are separated by a blank line. Each script section contains the script name [in brackets] and numbered steps, which include actions and comments. You may copy and paste these sections from one .scp file to another.
Merging .ACT Files:
Abacus actions consist of all configuration parameters available in the "Hook", "Wait", "Send", and "Do" tabs of the action configuration window. In the .act script file, new actions are appended to the existing .act file and are separated by a blank line. Each action section contains the action name [in brackets] and named parameters that match configuration fields in the GUI. You may copy and paste these sections from one .act file to another.
To use your new merged SCRIPT (.scp) file, use the Script Management window (accessed from the "Call Sequence" menu) to open it.
Once your ACTION (.act) and SCRIPT (.scp) files are merged and opened, all configured actions and scripts will be available for use.
