Possible reasons:

  1. Spirent TestCenter Application Version does not match the Spirent TestCenter Firmware Version
    • To verify each, take the following steps:
    • Application - Launch the GUI and Select form the Help Menu - About
    • Firmware - Use the GUI to Connect to the Chassis and Select from the Tools Menu - Equipment Information - Chassis - Firmware Version
  2. The chassis went down for some reason (network issue, disconnection, PC issue)
  3. Probably someone else reserves the same ports you are trying to use
    • When this happens usually the logs shows a message saying "The ports are not longer reserved by user"
  4. Communication reachability for some STC features
    • Modify the C:\Program Files\Spirent Communications\Spirent TestCenter X.xx\Spirent TestCenter Application\stcbll.ini file for the following:
