Spirent Velocity: Why do we get "TclParseException" when running certain tests over Velocity agent as a service?
Environment/Versions
Windows 7
Velocity Agent as a Service (not over Command Prompt)
Test cases involve reading Spreadsheet files, reading files through tcl session.
Answer
This issue is caused due to a Windows OS limitation: Services cannot run GUI applications.
As a result, the Velocity Agent as a Service is unable to run test cases which have GUI components, such as reading Spreadsheets.
In order to avoid this error, run the Velocity Agent as an independent process over Windows Command Prompt.
