Description iTest 8.0 Release Announcement iTest is a Python-Based Network Automation and Verification IDE. It provides automation authoring, execution and reporting, all as automated, on-demand workflows that integrates seamlessly with your DevOps tool chain. iTest 8.0 has several new usability enhancements for both new and experienced iTest users, 8.0 brings enhancements to Python sessions, making them easier to import custom Python content into iTest. Python and Robot developers can now leverage iTest’s powerful capture-playback and response mapping capabilities in a Python and Robot development environment. Our export to Python and Robot Framework functionality has been boosted through richer debugging capabilities. Our innovative Portable Automation Format (PAF) simplifies automation and adoption by enabling developers to leverage their automated applications for both lab and production use. In addition, 8.0 includes new security testing capabilities with Spirent CyberFlood allowing users to determine real world performance of their security devices. The integration between iTest and Velocity will continue to strengthen in 2019. Here is a list of some salient features and benefits in iTest 8.0 release.   Python and Robot editor Continuing iTest’s strong interoperability with Free and Open Source solutions, 8.0 empowers users to edit and execute Python or Robot assets from within the iTest GUI. It is the industry’s first integrated IDE for developing python, robot and iTest assets, all in one UI. IWA Capture Access  Capture of manually executed workflows have long been a strength of iTest.  In 8.0, Velocity incorporates those capabilities with Integration Workflow Automation. Velocity IWA users can easily capture common repetitive tasks and rapidly convert them to QuickCall keywords. CyberFlood Session Quickly determine real-world performance and threat mitigation capabilities of core and perimeter security platforms through iTest’s new CyberFlood Session. Easily create complex security device automation through this new powerful iTest session. REST Enhancements  RESTful Web interfaces provide the simplicty of a uniform interface to services. As RESTful Web services are becoming the standard protocol in the industry, 8.0 provides workflows that match users' natural behaviors. iTest 8.0 also supports REST API collections in Open API 3.0 and Swagger 2.0 formats.
